FriPos — restaurant POS built for Thailand

Built for Thailand, not adapted to it

Free POS software usually aims at every country at once, so a Thai shop ends up working around it. FriPos starts from how a Thai restaurant actually runs:

• PromptPay QR on the screen. The register shows the QR with the bill amount already in it, so nobody retypes the total. The customer pays from the screen: no card terminal, no extra device, and we take no cut of the transaction.
• Thai public holidays are filled in automatically — including substitution days and the Buddhist holidays that move each year — as soon as the shop picks its area in settings. Nobody types a holiday calendar, and nobody has to update it next year.
• The daily sales summary arrives in LINE — the app Thai shop owners already have open all day.
• All-you-can-eat and mookata: head count per table and a time limit, because that is how these shops actually charge.
• Five interface languages — Thai, English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean. The shop picks the one it works in.

No POS hardware to buy

One phone the shop already owns is enough to start selling. There is no terminal, no cash drawer and no stand to buy. A LAN receipt or kitchen printer can be added later, but it is optional, and shops that never print can use FriPos normally.

It keeps selling when the internet drops

The Android app stores orders on the device first, so a lost connection does not stop the shop from taking orders and payments; it syncs when the connection returns. The register is in the phone. For shops connected to our cloud, the sales record itself is held and totalled on the server, so it does not live on one device only.

What it costs

The free tier is 0 THB, forever — not a trial, no credit card, no contract. Paid tiers are 299, 499 and 999 THB per month and can be cancelled at any time. We never take a percentage of a shop's sales.

Our own shops, and the record we publish

FriPos is the system our own five restaurants in Chiang Mai run on — two yakiniku shops, an izakaya, a yakitori shop and a mookata buffet. It is the same system a new shop signs up for.

What was actually recorded, day by day, is published: one row per day, appended automatically each morning — how many shops on our servers recorded real bills that day, most of them our own — including the days that were not clean.
